This was a wonderfully open brief to work on, simply because the text is so young and simple. It’s gently rhyming, just what you need to calm little ones at bedtime! I haven’t done a specifically Christian text since 2007 (Rise and Shine!) so I was pleased to get another opportunity. Thank you, Lord!
The publisher wanted the main character and his family to be bears ( I tried them on lemurs, kittens, lions, bunnies and a tortoise, all to no avail); so I set myself the challenge of making him the cutest, most endearing, softest looking little bear I could. I think I did a pretty good job!
