WARNING! This Book May Contain Rabbits!

By Tim Warnes

Little Tiger Press 2016

Mole and the Lumpy-Bumpy Thing have found a hat with a label: ‘WARNING! Do
Not Touch!’ Out of the hat hops a bunny. And another. And then another! Holy moley! Whatever’s
going on?

Over the years I’ve scribbled down several ideas for stories about magic hats. First it was a snowman who found one, then a bear. Next came the idea of a white rabbit who escapes from a lost magic hat. Eventually all these brewing thoughts came together to form this new adventure for Mole and the Lumpy-Bumpy Thing from DANGEROUS!

I thought the rabbits would feel rather dazed and confused when they magically appeared, so I gave them big, starey eyes (I wish I’d thought to label one discombobulated…). At first it was just Mole who refers to them as bunnies. But as I read and reread the story aloud to myself, I decided bunny was much more fun to say than rabbit, so I changed it in the narration too. I’d LOVE to hear Rowan Atkinson read it…
